P0708: Transmission Range Sensor A Circuit High
What to do
Expect harsh shifting and possibly no reverse lights. Ask for the connector itself to be inspected — corrosion there mimics a failed sensor closely enough to have sold a good many unnecessary parts.
What this code means
The range sensor signal is above its valid range — a short to supply, or an open circuit, which read identically at the module. A corroded connector that has lost contact and a broken wire are indistinguishable electrically, and on a gearbox-mounted connector exposed to fluid and road spray corrosion is much the more likely of the two.
