P0950: Auto Shift Manual Control Circuit
What to do
Automatic shifting continues normally — only manual requests are ignored. Nothing about this threatens the gearbox and it can wait for a convenient appointment.
What this code means
A circuit fault in the manual shift control on an automated gearbox — the paddles or the sequential gate through which a driver requests a gear.
As with the equivalent codes on a conventional automatic under P0815 and P0826, the transmission is unaffected: it continues to select gears automatically, and only the ability to ask for one by hand is lost. The difference on an automated manual is that manual mode is often the reason the vehicle was chosen, so the loss is more keenly felt even though nothing is at risk.
