Manual shift mode not working
The paddles or the manual gate no longer change gear on request, while automatic shifting continues normally. They share the clock spring — the flat ribbon cable that carries every steering wheel circuit through a wheel that turns — and that combination points at one part behind the wheel rather than at two switches. It is the same component that produces an airbag warning when its conductors fatigue, so a car with paddles, horn and airbag lamp misbehaving together has one fault, not three.
