P0964: Pressure Control Solenoid B Control Circuit/Open
What to do
If faults are reported for several solenoid control circuits at once, ask for each solenoid to be measured individually. If they all measure correctly, the module's output stage is the likely fault — which is one of the few cases where replacing the control module is genuinely the right repair rather than a guess.
What this code means
A control circuit fault for the second pressure control solenoid. The relationship to P0775 is the one set out under P0960: this code describes the electrical path, that one describes the hydraulic result, and which of them are present decides where to look.
What is worth adding here is the case where control circuit codes appear for several solenoids at once. Elsewhere the corpus argues repeatedly against blaming the control module — under P0753, P0882 and others — because a shared supply or a single shorted winding produces exactly that picture. This is the exception that proves the rule. Modules drive their solenoids from grouped output stages, and a driver stage that has failed internally takes down every solenoid on it while each individual winding measures perfectly.
So the discriminator is measurement, not the code list: if several control circuit faults appear together and every solenoid winding checks out to specification, the module's output stage genuinely is the fault. That is the one situation in this range where replacing the module is the correct answer rather than the expensive guess.
