P0775: Pressure Control Solenoid B
What to do
If one particular gear change is consistently harsh or slips while every other change feels normal, say exactly which one. That specificity is what distinguishes this from a general pressure fault, and it narrows the diagnosis considerably.
What this code means
A fault in the second of the transmission's pressure control solenoids. A gearbox has more than one because different clutches need pressure modulated independently — one solenoid governing overall line pressure while another meters the pressure applied to a particular element during a particular shift.
That independence is the useful distinction from P0745. A fault in pressure control A degrades shift quality across the whole transmission; a fault in B typically degrades a specific set of shifts while the rest stay normal. So a transmission that shifts beautifully except for one consistently bad change is describing this code rather than the other, and that observation separates the two before anything is measured.
