P0A14: Engine Mount A Control Circuit/Open
What to do
This is a comfort fault, not a safety or breakdown risk — drive normally and have it seen when convenient. If the car has recently had engine work, ask the workshop to check the mount's vacuum line before anyone prices a mount.
What this code means
The control circuit for the switchable engine mount has failed open.
A hybrid stops and restarts its engine dozens of times per journey, and every one of those events shakes the body in a way a conventional car only produces at the key. So the mounts are made switchable — soft when the engine is stopping, starting or idling, stiff when it is pulling — controlled by vacuum or by an electromagnetic valve. This code says the module has lost its line to that control.
Nothing here threatens the powertrain. The mount falls back to one fixed stiffness, and what the driver notices is comfort: a shudder as the engine stops and starts, a coarse patch of vibration at idle. On vacuum-switched mounts the commonest cause is not electrical at all — a split or slipped vacuum line to the mount produces the same complaint and costs pennies to fix.
