What to do
Ask for the mechanical possibilities to be eliminated first — a dragging brake or a failing bearing makes the motor draw current that looks like an electrical fault, and it is by far the cheapest thing on the list. If the car has also felt slower, run warmer, or lost range without any other explanation, mention it: that pattern fits a mechanical drag rather than an electrical fault. What this code means
The overall current flowing in drive motor A is not what it should be.
This is a value code, not an instrument code, and that is the whole distinction this end of the block turns on. The sensor-circuit codes from P0BE5 onward say the measuring hardware has failed. This one says the measurement is trustworthy and the number is wrong — the machine is genuinely drawing more or less current than the torque being asked of it can explain.
That narrows things usefully. Current in an electric motor is the direct consequence of two things: the field the inverter creates, and the mechanical load resisting it. So a current that does not match the command is either the inverter not driving as intended, or the motor meeting a load nobody accounted for — a dragging brake, a seizing bearing, a transmission fault — or the machine itself losing insulation between windings, which lets current circulate without producing torque.
Before the expensive interpretations, rule out the mechanical one, because it is the only suspect on the list that is cheap and the only one that will destroy something else while it is ignored.
