What to do
All three phases at once almost always means one shared thing, not three failures — the connector at the motor, the harness bundle, or the inverter's output stage. Ask what was found at the connector before agreeing to a motor or inverter. If the car has recently had work near the transmission or subframe, say so. High-voltage cabling: no home inspection of any kind.
What this code means
All three phase circuits between the inverter and drive motor A are faulty or open.
Read the title carefully, because it is doing something unusual: it names all three phases at once. The P0A5D family names one phase at a time, and one phase failing is a winding, a terminal or an inverter leg. Three failing simultaneously is not three faults. Three independent windings do not break together, and three inverter legs do not fail in the same instant.
So a code that sounds like the worst possible news usually has the cheapest possible cause: the thing all three share. On almost every vehicle the three phases run as one shielded bundle from inverter to machine and land in one multi-way connector, so a connector not latched after work, a bundle chafed where it crosses the subframe, or a rodent finding the loom takes all three together. The inverter's output stage as a whole is the other shared item, and it is the expensive one.
Ask what was checked at the connector before anything is quoted — this is the code where the gap between the cheapest and most expensive answer is widest in the whole block.
