Chafed harness between transaxle and inverter
The low-voltage signal harness carrying the resolver, temperature and interlock signals between the hybrid transaxle and the inverter — short, exposed, and flexed by every engine movement, which makes it the commonest single point of failure for the sensor families it serves.
The sensors at its far end live sealed inside the transaxle and barely ever fail; this harness fails routinely. That asymmetry is the diagnosis: a resolver or motor-temperature code is a harness suspect first, and the internal sensor — a transaxle-opening job — is the last resort, not the first quote. Chafe shows where the loom crosses a bracket or edge, and the faults it causes are classically intermittent, tracking bumps, damp and engine torque.
Typically specialist work. Needs equipment or training most home workshops do not have.
