U0247: Communicatieverlies met de regelmodule F stoel

The car drives normally; one seat's powered adjustment has stopped.
Ask for one thing before any trim is removed: are any of the other seats also reporting faults? On a vehicle with this many powered seats they normally share a local network, so several silent together means one shared fault — a supply or a link — rather than several failures. That is one repair instead of several, and it decides which seat to work on.
Also worth establishing: can anybody actually point at a seat that has stopped working? Vehicles built in different seating configurations often share one control unit, and if the configuration is wrong it reports seats the vehicle never had. That is a coding correction rather than a repair, and no amount of dismantling will find it.
Wat deze code betekent
The sixth seat control module has stopped being heard from. See U0208 for the family's framing and U0246 for the reconfigurable-seating point, which applies here even more strongly.
At six seat modules the vehicle has more powered seats than most people have ever sat in, and the useful observation is architectural: they will be on a shared local network rather than individually wired to the body bus.
That makes the counting test from U0211 the single most efficient first step, and worth insisting on before any trim comes out:
- Several seat modules silent together means the shared link, its master, or the supply feeding the group. One repair.
- This one alone means its own branch — its connector, its loom, its seat.
Getting that wrong is expensive on a vehicle like this, because reaching a rear seat module means removing trim, and doing it on the wrong seat costs hours before anybody learns anything.
One further consideration specific to the end of a long series: check whether the seat exists. As at U0205 and U0221, vehicles built in several seating configurations often share one control unit part number, configured per build. A module reported missing for a seat the vehicle was never fitted with is a coding matter, and the distinguishing question is whether anybody can point at a seat that has actually stopped working.
