Brake pedal pulses or vibrates
The pedal pushes back in a rhythm as you brake, often with the steering wheel shaking in time with it. The rhythm is what identifies it: a pulse tied to road speed comes from the discs, while a rapid buzzing that only appears in an emergency stop is the anti-lock system doing its job and is entirely normal. People confuse the second for a fault and lift off, which is exactly the wrong response. A pulse that appears only after a long descent, and fades once things cool, is a different matter again and points at heat rather than distortion.

What this usually means
Separate a pulse you feel only under braking from the anti-lock system doing its job, because the second is not a fault at all. A rapid pulsing with a grinding or buzzing noise during hard braking, or on a slippery surface, is the anti-lock system working — that is exactly what it feels like, and drivers who have never experienced it often report it as a failure.
A pulse that occurs during ordinary, gentle braking is different, and it is almost always the discs.
The mechanism is worth stating because the usual explanation is wrong. Discs are rarely 'warped' in the sense of being bent. What varies is thickness — uneven pad deposits transferred onto the disc face, or corrosion, producing a surface the pad grips harder in some places than others. That thickness variation is what the pedal feels, and it is measurable with a micrometer where 'warping' is not.
Which pedal or wheel it is felt through says where. Through the brake pedal points at the front; through the seat or the whole car more often at the rear. A vibration through the steering wheel under braking is the front discs almost every time.
Excessive run-out is the other cause and it is often not the disc's fault. Dirt or corrosion between the disc and the hub face, or an unevenly torqued wheel, holds a perfectly good disc out of true — which is why cleaning the hub face is part of fitting discs, and why wheel bolts should be torqued properly rather than run up with a gun.
A pulse that appeared after new discs is usually bedding or hub cleanliness, not a faulty part.
