Calibração de software desatualizada

The module is running an older released version of its software, and the behaviour being reported is one the manufacturer has already corrected.

This is distinct from a module that was never programmed and from one whose programming failed. Nothing is broken and nothing is missing. The module is doing exactly what the version it holds tells it to — and that version has a known defect, a threshold set too tightly, or an assumption about a part that has since been superseded.

The reason it matters commercially is that the remedy is usually free or cheap and the alternative is not. Manufacturers publish technical bulletins listing symptoms answered by a software update, and a fault matching one of those is fixed in the time it takes to connect a programmer. The same symptom diagnosed as hardware buys a sensor, a module, or a set of injectors — after which the original behaviour returns, because the software still says what it said.

So the question worth asking before any part is ordered is whether the vehicle is on the current released software, and whether an outstanding bulletin or recall covers what it is doing. That check costs nothing and a franchised workshop can answer it immediately.

Two cautions. An update changes behaviour deliberately, so a stored calibration or adaptation may need resetting afterwards and a driver may notice the vehicle behaving differently — which is the point rather than a fault. And programming needs stable voltage throughout; a session interrupted by a sagging battery leaves the module worse off than it started, which is the failure described at U0441.
