P0CC6: Charge Port Door A Open Request Switch Wake-Up Circuit

If the car goes flat when left parked for a few days, mention this code specifically — a wake-up circuit stuck active keeps the whole vehicle powered up, and it is a far commoner explanation than a failing 12-volt battery. Fitting a second battery will not fix it and the new one will flatten too. Ask for a parasitic drain test with this circuit in mind rather than a battery.
What this code means
The circuit that lets the charge port door's request switch wake the vehicle has a fault.
This code exists because of a problem unique to electric cars, and the problem is sleep. A parked EV shuts almost everything down to protect its 12-volt battery — modules stop listening, the network goes quiet, and the car can stay that way for weeks. But the charge port door still has to open when somebody presses it. So the request switch gets a dedicated line with the power to rouse the car from that sleep, separate from the circuit that reads the switch normally. That is what this code names, and why it is not the same as P0CC7.
Which sets up the failure worth knowing about, because it is expensive and it gets misdiagnosed every time. A wake-up line stuck active does not fail to wake the car — it never lets the car go back to sleep. Everything stays powered, the 12-volt battery is drained over a few days rather than a few months, and the owner returns to a vehicle that is completely dead with a full traction battery underneath it.
That is the U0215 pattern in a new place: a car kept awake by something it believes is being asked of it. And it is answered with a new 12-volt battery, then an alternator that does not exist, and finally a parasitic drain investigation that would have found it in the first hour. A car that goes flat when parked, with any charge port code stored, should be read this way round.
