P2446: Secondary Air Injection System Pump Stuck On Bank 2
What to do
Worth attending to quickly. The pump is built for about a minute of running per cold start and will burn out if held on, and the extra air makes the engine over-fuel, which is hard on the catalytic converter. Ask for the pump relay to be tested first — welded relay contacts hold the pump on regardless of what the module commands, and that is the cheapest cause by far.
What this code means
The bank 2 secondary air pump is running when it should not be. The consequences are at P2444: the pump destroys itself, the oxygen sensors on that bank report a lean mixture that is not there, and the module over-fuels in response.
Where a vehicle has one pump feeding both banks, this code and its bank 1 counterpart will appear together and describe one pump. Where it has two, only one is running and the relay serving that one is the first thing to test.

Information, not instruction
CarGeek is a reference, not a service manual. Its pages are written from public sources and from what other people have found, never from a manufacturer's own service information, so they can be wrong or incomplete for your particular vehicle. Some of what they describe carries real risk: high voltage, fuel under pressure, stored energy, hot and moving parts.
Have anything you intend to act on checked by a trained person against the manufacturer's own procedure for your vehicle. Nothing here replaces that procedure.

Nothing posted about this yet. Whatever you found is worth writing down — even a dead end saves someone the same afternoon.
What makes one worth reading:
- The car — make, model, year and engine. The same fault behaves differently on each.
- What you measured, not only what you replaced.
- What actually fixed it — or that nothing did, which is worth knowing too.
