Suzuki's small petrol family, in 1.0 to 1.5 litre forms — the engines of the Swift, Baleno, Ignis, Vitara and S-Cross, including the naturally aspirated Dualjet versions and the turbocharged Boosterjet ones.
They are light, chain-driven, and designed around Suzuki's priority of low vehicle weight rather than high output. In naturally aspirated form they are notably trouble-free, and the complaints that arrive are consumables — coils, sensors, a carboned throttle body — plus, on cars fitted with Suzuki's mild-hybrid system, faults in that system reported as engine faults.
The turbocharged Boosterjet versions add the standard downsized-turbo profile: direct injection and its intake-valve carbon, and turbocharger life dependent on oil condition. Not to be confused with Honda's K-series, which shares the letter and nothing else — a genuine source of confusion in parts lookups.
