The car drives normally. What you may lose is one-touch closing, or the roof may refuse to close at all — and that is the anti-trap protection withdrawing itself rather than a breakage.
Check your headlining for damp, and mention it if you find any. A panoramic or sliding roof drains through small tubes running down the pillars, and those tubes block with leaf debris and pollen. When they do, water goes into the roof lining and down onto the electronics. A damp roof lining and this code are almost always one problem.
If the roof was recently forced by hand, or the battery was disconnected while it was moving, say so — it may simply have lost its position reference and need re-initialising, which is a procedure rather than a repair.
Do not put your hand through a partly open roof to test it. With the position data untrusted, the protection you would be relying on is exactly what has stopped working.

Before anything is diagnosed, establish that the vehicle actually has this equipment.
This is optional kit, and the commonest cause of a code naming it is a car that was told it has one when it does not. A body control module or gateway coded to a higher specification, a second-hand module carrying its donor vehicle's configuration, or a retrofit that was wired in but never coded — all three report equipment that is not there, and none of them is a fault in the vehicle.
Nothing is broken in that case and nothing needs replacing. The repair is a coding correction, and it is quick when somebody asks the question first.
This is the sunroof or panoramic roof rather than a convertible top, and it has one property that makes it worth taking seriously: it can trap a hand.
Anything that closes under power onto an opening a person can reach through carries anti-trap logic, and that logic depends on the module's own position and current measurements being trustworthy. When they stop being trustworthy the module withdraws the feature — most often by disabling one-touch closing, sometimes by refusing to close at all — which is protective rather than broken.
The mechanical cause dominates here, and it is drains again. A panoramic roof sits in a tray with drain tubes running down the pillars, and those tubes block with pollen and leaf debris. When the tray overflows, the water goes into the headlining, down the pillars, and onto whatever electronics are nearest — which on many cars is this module. A damp headlining and a roof code are one fault, not two.
The other regular cause is position learning. A roof that has been forced, disconnected, or had its battery removed mid-cycle can lose its reference points, and until it is re-initialised its reported position is genuinely wrong. That is a procedure, not a part.
