If this appeared after a motor, inverter or sensor replacement, the fix is a calibration procedure rather than a part — ask for the position sensor learning routine to be run before anything else is considered. A car that came back from that kind of work feeling flat and using more battery than it should is very often exactly this, and replacing the new part again will not help.

This is a procedure notice rather than a fault, and it is the electric equivalent of P0949. Nothing is broken. A step was skipped.
The inverter has to know exactly where the rotor is at every instant, because it places a rotating magnetic field just ahead of the magnets to produce torque. The sensor reports rotor angle — but the sensor's own zero is not the rotor's magnetic zero, and the offset between the two is a physical property of how that particular sensor was fitted to that particular machine. It cannot be assumed. It is measured once, on the vehicle, and stored.
So replacing a motor, an inverter or the sensor itself invalidates the stored offset, and until the learning routine is run the inverter places its field in approximately the right place rather than exactly. The result is not a breakdown — it is a car that works and is quietly wrong: less torque for more current, more heat, worse efficiency and shorter range.
Which makes this the code behind a very specific and very common complaint: a car back from motor or inverter work that feels flat and drinks the battery. It reads like a bad part and it is a missed procedure.
