Cause
Excessive fuel pressure
Pressure above what the module commanded, usually a regulator or a blocked return rather than a pump working too hard. The engine runs rich, and unburnt fuel washes the bores and dilutes the oil — so a rising oil level with a fuel smell is a symptom worth taking seriously.
