Stability control is not working, so the car will not catch a slide for you. It handles like a car without the system — which is fine, but it is not what you are used to. Take real care in the wet, on ice, and on fast corners, and leave more margin than usual.
Two things worth telling whoever looks at it.
Has any suspension, alignment, ride height or accident repair work been done? The sensors that measure the car's rotation and sideways movement have to learn which way is level and which is forward, and that reference is lost when they are disturbed. A vehicle that needs recalibrating after such work is extremely common and is a scan tool procedure rather than a new part.
Is there also an ABS or wheel speed fault stored? Stability control runs on wheel speeds, so if those are untrustworthy this system fails as a consequence. In that case it is one fault — usually a wheel speed sensor — and fixing that clears both.

The vehicle dynamics control module is broadcasting data that cannot be accepted as true. See U0400 for the family's framing and U0415, which it is usually downstream of.
Stability control works by comparing what the driver asked for with what the vehicle is actually doing. The request comes from the steering angle and the pedals; the actual behaviour comes from a yaw rate sensor measuring rotation about the vertical axis and a lateral acceleration sensor measuring sideways force. When the two diverge — the car turning less or more than asked — it brakes individual wheels to correct it.
That makes its published values unusually consequential: yaw rate and lateral acceleration are what several other systems use to understand the vehicle's motion. An implausible report there is rejected everywhere.
The most useful diagnostic point on this page is that the sensor cluster measuring those values has to know which way is level and which way is forward — and that reference is learned, not built in. So the calibration argument the corpus makes for the forward radar applies here too: a sensor cluster that has been disturbed, replaced, or had the vehicle's ride height or alignment changed needs re-zeroing before its output means anything.
A vehicle that developed this code after suspension work, a wheel alignment, a ride height change or accident repair is very often uncalibrated rather than faulty, and that is a scan tool procedure rather than a part.
And the U0415 relationship should be checked first. Stability control cannot function on wheel speeds it does not trust, so a braking-module data fault will propagate here — meaning this code alongside U0415 is one fault, and the wheel speed sensor is where the work is.
The safety consequence deserves plain statement: with stability control unavailable, the car will not intervene if it starts to slide. It handles as a vehicle without the system — which is what cars were for decades, but not what this driver is used to.
