Expect the engine to drop to idle or stop, and treat this as a reason to get the vehicle recovered rather than driven.
The throttle cannot be positioned when this conversation is lost, and the system's designed response is to close it — which is the safe direction, but it means the engine can lose power without warning.
If it happens while you are moving: the steering will become much heavier and the brakes will need a far harder push, because both are assisted by the running engine. The brakes still work — there is usually enough stored assistance for one or two firm presses, and after that the pedal is hard but effective. Steer to the side, and be aware that the steering will feel much heavier than usual.
This is a wiring and power fault far more often than a failed module, so ask for those to be checked first.
Wat deze code betekent
The throttle actuator control module has stopped being heard from. The general reasoning is at U0100.
Where throttle control is handled by a module separate from the engine module, losing the conversation removes the only means by which the throttle can be positioned. The response is the one the P2105 and P2111 family describes: the engine is forced to idle or shut down entirely, because a throttle that cannot be commanded is more dangerous open than closed.
Marked not to be driven for that reason. The failure is not gradual — it can arrive at any moment, and it takes the engine's power with it. Losing the engine at road speed takes the power steering assistance and the brake servo with it, so the car becomes heavy to steer and needs a much harder push on the brake pedal, exactly when it has become an obstacle.
The consolation is that the failure direction is deliberate and safe: there is no arrangement in which this fault opens the throttle.
