O que fazer
The car will drive normally. The practical consequence arrives at an emissions test, where the evaporative self-test will not have completed and the vehicle is rejected rather than failed. Have it repaired well before a test is due, since the monitor needs a number of drive cycles to complete afterwards.
O que este código significa
A fault in the sensor measuring the temperature of fuel vapour in the evaporative emissions system. The reason a temperature reading matters to a leak test is worth setting out, because it explains a symptom that otherwise looks unrelated.
Evaporative leak detection works by sealing the fuel system and watching the pressure. But vapour pressure in a sealed tank changes with temperature all by itself — fuel warming after a journey raises it, fuel cooling overnight lowers it — so a pressure change on its own proves nothing. The module needs temperature to tell a genuine leak from ordinary thermal behaviour.
Without a trustworthy reading it will not run the test at all. That is the consequence people actually meet: the evaporative readiness monitor never completes, and the vehicle is rejected at an emissions test rather than failed — a distinction worth knowing, because a rejection cannot be fixed by clearing codes and driving round the block.
