Steering Column Clockspring
A coiled flat ribbon cable that carries signals across the rotating steering column, letting the wheel turn while keeping continuity to what is mounted on it. It is a wearing part with a finite number of rotations in it, and it carries several unrelated things at once — the driver's airbag, the horn, the steering wheel controls and usually the steering angle sensor. So one failure produces a combination that looks like several: an airbag warning, a dead horn and buttons that no longer work, all at the same time.
