Timing Chain
Drives the camshafts from the crankshaft, keeping valve events in step with piston position. Stretches over high mileage, and a stretched chain shifts cam timing enough to set correlation codes that are easily mistaken for sensor faults. On an interference engine a chain that jumps puts pistons into valves.
