U0154: Kommunikationsverlust mit dem Modul der Insassenklassifizierung
Was zu tun ist
The passenger airbag has been switched off, and with this fault it will stay off — so a front-seat passenger is travelling without one. Put an adult passenger in the back if you have the choice, and never fit a rear-facing child seat in the front while the airbag's status is uncertain.
This is the system that works out who is in the passenger seat and decides whether the passenger airbag should fire. It has stopped talking to the rest of the car, so the car has done the safe thing and disabled the airbag.
Two free checks before anyone charges you, and they resolve a good share of these.
Slide the passenger seat all the way forward and all the way back, and watch the light. If the fault changes at one end of the runners, the wiring under the seat has been stretched, trapped or pulled apart — that is a repair to a loom rather than a new module.
Then look underneath the seat for anything that has been pushed in there and is now pressing on the wiring or its plug.
And if the seat has been unbolted for any reason — carpets, wiring, or just to carry something — mention it. The system has to be re-zeroed afterwards, and that step gets skipped constantly.
Was dieser Code bedeutet
The occupant classification module has stopped being heard from. The general reasoning is at U0100, and U0455 explains what this system does — it decides who is in the passenger seat, and the passenger airbag is enabled, disabled or reduced in force accordingly.
Silence is the better of the two failures, and it is worth saying why.
A system reporting a wrong classification can leave the airbag deploying at a force chosen for somebody who is not there, and nothing on the dashboard shows it. A system that has gone silent cannot be believed at all, so the vehicle falls back to the safe assumption and disables the passenger airbag. The lamp stays on, an adult travels without a front airbag, and that is a fault — but it is the system failing the right way, and it is visible.
The cause is usually the seat's own wiring rather than the module, and the reason is mechanical. The harness has to reach a seat that slides through its whole travel, reclines, and on many vehicles tilts and folds — thousands of cycles, in the one part of the cabin where things also get pushed underneath, vacuumed around and knelt on. It is the same failure as the door harness boot at U0143, in a place nobody associates with it.
So the free checks are worth doing before anything is ordered. Slide the seat through its full travel and watch whether the lamp changes — a fault that appears at one end of the runners is a stretched or trapped harness. And look underneath for anything that has been pushed in there and is now bearing on the loom or its connector.
The U0455 recalibration point still applies: if the seat has been unbolted for any reason, the system must be re-zeroed, and that step is skipped constantly.

Was einen Bericht lesenswert macht:
- Das Fahrzeug — Marke, Modell, Baujahr und Motor. Derselbe Fehler verhält sich auf jedem anders.
- Was Sie gemessen haben, nicht nur, was Sie getauscht haben.
- Was es tatsächlich behoben hat — oder dass nichts es behoben hat, was ebenso nützlich ist.
