U0327: Incompatibilité logicielle avec le calculateur d'alarme du véhicule
Que faire
The alarm has stopped behaving properly. The car still starts and drives — that is the immobiliser, which is a different system.
Two things can happen. The alarm may simply not arm — the car locks normally but nothing is watching it, and the only clue is that the usual flash or chirp when you lock is missing. Or it may go off by itself, usually at three in the morning, because the computer is watching for sensors your car does not have, or cannot place a signal it does receive.
If it is the second, that is worth sorting quickly for the sake of everyone parked near you.
One thing to mention: has an aftermarket alarm ever been fitted alongside the factory one? That is a leading cause — two systems watching the same doors, neither told about the other.
And one warning: do not try to silence a going-off alarm by disconnecting the battery. The siren has its own internal battery precisely so that this does not work, and on many cars disconnecting sets it off. There is a proper disarm procedure — ask for it rather than forcing it, because a siren forced into protection mode may have to be replaced.
Nothing is broken; this is a programming job.

A module is running software that does not belong with the vehicle security module's. See U0300 for the family and U0168 for the difference between the alarm and the immobiliser — the immobiliser at U0326 stops the vehicle being driven; this makes a noise and flashes lights, and a vehicle with an alarm fault normally still starts.
A security module's software is mostly a list of what to watch, and that is what a mismatch disturbs: which doors exist, whether there is a bonnet switch, a boot switch, interior movement sensing, a tilt sensor for wheel theft, glass break detection, and what each of them should do when triggered.
So the two failure directions from U0168 arrive here for a configuration reason rather than a wiring one.
It may not arm, leaving the vehicle unwatched with only a missing confirmation flash to say so.
Or it may trigger by itself, repeatedly, usually at night — because a module watching for sensors that do not exist, or interpreting one it does not have configured, has no way to distinguish a genuine opening from a signal it cannot place. That is the version that makes a vehicle unwelcome where it is parked, and it is worth treating as urgent for social reasons rather than mechanical ones.
Two practical facts repeat from U0168 because people are rarely told them. There is a documented disarm procedure, and forcing the issue can leave a siren that has to be replaced.
