U0175: Communicatieverlies met de sensor F van het veiligheidssysteem
Wat te doen
The airbag warning light means the crash protection may not work properly. The car drives normally; get it seen.
There is one question worth answering that nobody usually thinks to ask: what has been fitted to the car since it was built?
Aftermarket parking sensors, a light bar, a dashcam wired into the fusebox, a stereo amplifier, a tracker, a tow bar. All of that gets routed along exactly the same paths as the airbag wiring — along the sills, behind the kick panels, up the pillars — because those are the tidy routes.
Three things happen there, and none of them is a faulty sensor. A cable tie pulled tight over both looms slowly cuts through insulation. An airbag connector unplugged for access and never properly clicked back in. A trim clip pushed back through the wiring.
And the timing is what disguises it: the fault often appears weeks or months after the accessory was fitted, so nobody connects the two. If anything has been added to the car, including by a previous owner, say so.
One more thing to insist on: if a connector or a wire is found damaged, ask for it to be replaced rather than repaired. An airbag circuit is not a place for a soldered joint and some heatshrink.

One cause belongs specifically to silence and deserves its own page, because it is invisible to everybody except the person who installed it: accessory wiring run alongside a restraints harness.
The routes that restraints wiring takes — along the front rails, down the sills, behind the kick panels, through the A-pillars — are the same routes an installer uses, because they are the tidy ones. Aftermarket parking sensors, a light bar, a dashcam hardwired to a fuse box, an amplifier's power feed, a trailer loom, a tracker.
Three ways that produces this code, and none involves a faulty sensor.
- A cable tie pulled tight over both looms, which over years works a conductor through its insulation.
- A restraints connector unplugged for access and never fully re-latched — the U0152 shorting bar again.
- A panel or trim clip refitted through the harness, which is a slow open circuit rather than an immediate one.
So the question that finds it is "what has been fitted to this vehicle", asked about the previous owner as well. A restraints fault that appeared weeks or months after an accessory installation is not a coincidence — it is the installation, arriving late.
And the standing rule holds: where a connector or a conductor is found damaged, it is replaced rather than repaired. A restraints circuit is not a place for a soldered splice and heatshrink.
