P2421: Entlüftungsventil des Kraftstoffverdunstungssystems — Klemmt offen
Was zu tun ist
The car drives normally and there may be no symptom beyond the light. If a large evaporative leak has also been reported, be cautious about paying for a leak hunt — a vent valve stuck open makes a sound system fail every leak test, and that is the more likely explanation when both codes appear together. The valve sits underneath the vehicle where road dirt and salt reach it, so it is often held open by debris rather than electrically failed.
Was dieser Code bedeutet
The vent valve is not closing when commanded. This is a mechanical finding rather than a circuit one — the module has driven the valve and watched the system fail to seal.
What the vent valve does. In normal running it stays open so the charcoal canister can breathe: air must be able to enter as vapour is drawn out to the engine, and the tank must be able to equalise as it warms and cools. For a leak test, the module closes it to seal the system. Those are its only two jobs.
Stuck open means the system can never be sealed, so every leak test finds a leak whether or not one exists. The result is a large-leak code — P0455 or similar — reported on a system that may be perfectly sound. That is the mistake worth avoiding here: a large-leak code stored alongside this one is very probably this valve, not a hole, and hunting for a leak with a smoke machine will find nothing.
The cause is usually not a failed solenoid. The valve sits underneath the vehicle near the canister, and it is held open by what collects there: dirt drawn in through the canister's air inlet, corrosion on the plunger, or an insect or debris in the seat. On salted roads it is among the most common evaporative faults on the car.

Dazu wurde noch nichts veröffentlicht. Was immer Sie gefunden haben, ist es wert, aufgeschrieben zu werden — selbst eine Sackgasse erspart jemandem denselben Nachmittag.
Was einen Bericht lesenswert macht:
- Das Fahrzeug — Marke, Modell, Baujahr und Motor. Derselbe Fehler verhält sich auf jedem anders.
- Was Sie gemessen haben, nicht nur, was Sie getauscht haben.
- Was es tatsächlich behoben hat — oder dass nichts es behoben hat, was ebenso nützlich ist.
