The satellite or subscription radio has dropped off the car's network entirely.
One useful distinction first. A subscription that has simply lapsed does not cause this — an unpaid receiver still works, still answers, and just refuses to play. So if the module has genuinely gone quiet, an unpaid bill is not the explanation. Worth checking anyway, since it may be a second reason nothing is playing.
What usually has happened is simpler: the unit has been taken out. These get removed when people give up the subscription, during a stereo upgrade, or for the space — and the car is usually not told, so it reports the missing module forever with nothing to find.
So the job is to establish whether the receiver is still physically in the car, and if it is not, have the car coded to stop expecting it. That is cheap, and it stops the car calling for a module that will never answer — which can keep it awake after you lock it and flatten the battery.
And if the car was imported, that is the other answer. These services only broadcast in certain countries, and a receiver for one that does not cover where you live cannot be repaired into working.
Nothing about this affects driving the car.

The subscription entertainment receiver has stopped being heard from. The general reasoning is at U0100, and U0496 makes the point that comes first: a lapsed subscription is not a fault.
Silence changes which of U0496's answers is likely, and it is worth knowing which questions still apply.
A lapsed subscription does not produce this code. An unpaid receiver is still powered, still on the network, and still answering — it simply refuses to play. So if the module has genuinely gone quiet, the subscription is not the explanation, and that distinguishes this page from U0496 usefully. Do check it anyway, because it may be a second and separate reason nothing is playing.
What does produce silence, in order:
- The module has been removed. These are taken out when a subscription is abandoned, during an infotainment upgrade, or for the space — and not coded out, which reports lost communication permanently with nothing to find. On an older vehicle this is the likeliest answer.
- Its supply, since these receivers are usually on a shared accessory fuse with the head unit.
- The aerial connection, which is the roof antenna module at U0185 — though an aerial fault normally gives poor reception rather than silence on the network, so this is a lesser cause than it looks.
And the geography point from U0496 still stands: these services are regional, and an imported vehicle carries a receiver for a service that does not broadcast where it now lives. No repair changes that, and coding it out is the sensible outcome.
