P0562: when ten codes appear at once, believe this one first
P0562 says system voltage dropped below what the ECU considers workable. On its own it points at the charging system. Arriving in a crowd — with communication codes, random sensor...
Have the battery and alternator tested before paying for any other diagnosis — this fault causes symptoms all over the vehicle, and fixing it often clears a long list of unrelated codes at a stroke. If the battery warning light is on, the charging system has stopped working and you are running on battery alone: expect the vehicle to stop within perhaps twenty to forty minutes, so head somewhere useful rather than pressing on.
Supply voltage is below the range the module needs. Of everything in this block, this is the code most worth understanding properly, because low system voltage is one of the great generators of wasted diagnosis.
Modules and actuators do not simply stop when voltage sags — they misbehave. Solenoids move slowly or not at all, sensor reference voltages drift, network messages get corrupted, and modules reset mid-operation. The resulting faults look like genuine failures of transmission, ABS, stability control and fuel systems all at once, and every one of them will be chased in vain while the actual problem sits on the battery terminals.
The causes divide cleanly. Charging faults: a failing alternator, a slipping or missing belt, a broken charging warning circuit. Connection faults: corroded terminals, a poor engine-to-body earth strap. Battery faults: an aged battery that no longer holds charge, or one being drained overnight by a parasitic load. Demand faults: an added accessory drawing more than the system can supply.
A charging system test costs minutes and settles which of those it is. Do it before anything else.
