U0485: Ungültige Daten vom Radio empfangen
Was zu tun ist
Check what else has stopped working before deciding this is only about the stereo.
On most cars built in the last ten years, the unit in the middle of the dashboard is not a radio — it is the cabin's computer, and it very often runs the heater and air conditioning controls, the reversing camera, the parking sensor display and the car's settings menus as well. So this may be more than an entertainment problem, and it is worth checking whether the climate controls and the reversing camera still work.
The single most useful thing to say is whether the stereo is the original one. A replacement head unit fitted without a proper vehicle-specific interface is by far the commonest cause of this code — the car receives messages it cannot make sense of, and two things follow that the installer probably did not mention: the car may never fully switch off, flattening the battery over a few days, and other systems start reporting faults that have nothing to do with them.
If a second-hand original unit was fitted from another car of the same model, mention that too. On many vehicles it has to be programmed to your car — sometimes because it is linked to the immobiliser — rather than simply plugged in.
The car is safe to drive. If the reversing camera has gone, use your mirrors and look over your shoulder rather than trusting a frozen image.
Was dieser Code bedeutet
The radio is broadcasting data that cannot be accepted as true. See U0400 for the family's framing.
The word "radio" in this code's title is forty years out of date, and correcting it is most of what this page is for.
On a vehicle built in the last decade the head unit is the cabin's computer. As well as audio it commonly carries the climate controls, the driving mode selection, the reversing camera and parking sensor display, the vehicle settings menus, the phone connection, the navigation interface and — on cars with no physical buttons left — functions that used to be switches.
So "the radio has a fault" understates it. Losing this module can take the heater controls and the reversing camera with it, and on some vehicles leaves settings that can only be changed through a screen that is no longer trustworthy.
The dominant cause on older vehicles is the one worth naming plainly: an aftermarket head unit. A replacement stereo fitted into a car whose original was on the data bus needs a proper vehicle-specific interface — a module that translates steering wheel controls, chimes, speed-dependent volume, the reversing signal and the ignition state. Fitted without one, or with a generic adapter, the vehicle receives messages it cannot accept and stores exactly this code. Two consequences follow that installers rarely mention: the network may never go to sleep, so the battery flattens over a few days, and the vehicle's own diagnostics become unreliable in ways that get blamed on unrelated systems.
On newer vehicles the cause shifts to coding. An original head unit taken from another car of the same model is frequently linked to that car's identity — and on many vehicles to its immobiliser — so it must be programmed to the vehicle rather than plugged in.
Otherwise the family's rule holds: the head unit displays what it is given, so a code naming the module that supplies a wrong value is the better lead.

Dazu wurde noch nichts veröffentlicht. Was immer Sie gefunden haben, ist es wert, aufgeschrieben zu werden — selbst eine Sackgasse erspart jemandem denselben Nachmittag.
Was einen Bericht lesenswert macht:
- Das Fahrzeug — Marke, Modell, Baujahr und Motor. Derselbe Fehler verhält sich auf jedem anders.
- Was Sie gemessen haben, nicht nur, was Sie getauscht haben.
- Was es tatsächlich behoben hat — oder dass nichts es behoben hat, was ebenso nützlich ist.
