P2617: Ausgang des Kurbelwellenpositionssignals — Stromkreis unterbrochen
Was zu tun ist
The engine will normally start and drive as usual. The tell is often on the dashboard rather than in the driving — a rev counter that reads erratically or has stopped working altogether.
That combination is worth stating clearly, because it separates a cheap job from an expensive one: an engine that runs perfectly and a rev counter that does not is a signal distribution fault, not a crankshaft sensor. A failed crankshaft sensor stops the engine running; it does not leave it running smoothly with a dead gauge. Crankshaft sensors are often buried and expensive to reach, so it is worth being sure before one is quoted. The wiring between the modules is the place to look.
Was dieser Code bedeutet
An open circuit on the output by which the engine module passes a crankshaft position signal to another module.
The same inversion as at P2614 applies, and applies more strongly here: an engine cannot run at all without a crankshaft signal, so an engine that is running is proof the module is receiving one. A code on this output therefore exonerates the crankshaft position sensor almost completely — which matters, because the crankshaft sensor is a part people reach for quickly and it is often awkward and expensive to reach.
What listens to the re-transmitted crank signal is a longer list than for the camshaft, and it includes something the driver can see: the tachometer. Depending on the vehicle, the transmission module, the stability control system and the restraint system all want to know engine speed and whether the engine is running.
That gives this family the best free diagnostic in the batch. A tachometer that reads erratically, or reads nothing, on an engine that starts and pulls perfectly, is a signal distribution fault rather than a sensor fault. A genuinely failed crankshaft sensor does not present that way — it presents as an engine that cuts out or will not start at all, because the module driving the ignition and injection has lost the reference it needs.
So the two are separable from the driver's seat before anything is measured: engine fine, gauge wrong is this code; engine wrong is P0335.

Dazu wurde noch nichts veröffentlicht. Was immer Sie gefunden haben, ist es wert, aufgeschrieben zu werden — selbst eine Sackgasse erspart jemandem denselben Nachmittag.
Was einen Bericht lesenswert macht:
- Das Fahrzeug — Marke, Modell, Baujahr und Motor. Derselbe Fehler verhält sich auf jedem anders.
- Was Sie gemessen haben, nicht nur, was Sie getauscht haben.
- Was es tatsächlich behoben hat — oder dass nichts es behoben hat, was ebenso nützlich ist.
