Clutch Position Sensor
Reports where the clutch actually is, closing the control loop that lets a module take up a clutch smoothly — move to the bite point, hold while slip is managed, then complete engagement. None of that is possible without knowing the position, so losing the signal produces either a vehicle that will not move or one that engages abruptly, depending on how the module is written to fail. Only fitted where the clutch is operated by an actuator rather than by a pedal: a conventional manual has no such sensor, and a torque-converter automatic has no clutch in this sense at all.
