Transmission Mode Switch

The sport, comfort or economy button that selects which shift programme the transmission uses. It expresses a preference and nothing more — the module simply falls back to the normal programme when it cannot read the switch, so a failure here leaves the vehicle driving entirely as usual in the setting most drivers leave it in anyway. Worth knowing because it sits among transmission codes that are genuinely serious and is not one of them, and because it is an ordinary dashboard switch on ordinary interior wiring rather than anything inside the gearbox.
